The Communications & Marketing team supports the constant improvement of technological resources at the University, excellent customer service and the reputation of ITS by promoting its products, people and plans.

We engage and inform ITS customers through consistent, two-way communication in multiple platforms and in person. We try to strengthen the internal communication required to ensure that students, faculty and staff are getting the best, most current and most useful information. In everything, we strive to be clear, concise, constructive and customer-centered. We are dedicated to constantly improving the user experience at every level and to serving as the conduit for questions and constructive suggestions.

We maintain the ITS website and associated social media accounts, and we help support or maintain multiple websites that fall under the broad umbrella of the WVU Provost’s Office. We provide in-house writing, editing and consultation services for any ITS unit in need of assistance. We also provide monthly IT updates and infographics for academic leaders on campus, we represent ITS at orientation and other special events, and we develop promotional and marketing materials aimed at connecting with students.

Strategic Marketing + Communications

We provide strategic communication advice and planning for ITS leadership and ITS initiatives. Our tools to execute those plans include: media and community relations; digital and social media; promotional products; earned media coverage; event planning and more.

Public Relations

We create clear, comprehensive and targeted messages in all platforms for everything from unplanned outages and special student or faculty events to the launch of new tools, services or programs.
