Colleges, departments or degree programs that have specific computer requirements are listed below. If yours is not listed, refer to the Computer Buying Guide. Students also can contact their departments or advisors.

  • College of Creative Arts
  • Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design
  • Reed College of Media
  • School of Dentistry
  • School of Medicine
  • School of Nursing
  • School of Pharmacy
  • School of Public Health
  • Statler College – Undergraduate students enrolled in the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources are not required to have a personal PC or laptop. However, if you are purchasing one, please consider the following guidelines.
    • The machine should meet the minimum guidelines for the Science / Technology configuration listed for WVU students on the computer buying guide.
    • Many of the software packages used in engineering disciplines are Windows-based and require a Windows operating system. If you purchase an Apple product, you will need to either use Windows-based machines in Statler College student computer labs or install Windows on your Mac using BootCamp. This allows your machine to operate as either a Windows machine or a Mac.
