Turn on automatic software updates so that software will be up to date to defend against known risks.
Plug and scan.
USBs and other external devices can be infected by viruses and malware. Use your security software to scan them and NEVER plug in an unknown USB.
Protect all devices.
Make sure all your devices are protected including phones, gaming systems, computers, tablets. All devices should have unique passwords that you NEVER share with anyone.
