Mountaineer Card site and CS Gold services will be unavailable 7 a.m.-noon Nov. 26

Mountaineer Card-related services, including the MyMountaineerCard website, will be unavailable 7 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Nov. 26 while we do important work on the underlying system. You cannot purchase or change meal plans, make Mountie Bounty deposits or check balances during this time. Door lock administrators also cannot make access changes during this window.

New Information Security and Identity Theft policies available for public comment until Dec. 11

Between now and Dec. 11, faculty, staff and students can review and comment on two new policies addressing the use and protection of WVU technology resources: Information Security, and Identity Theft Detection and Prevention. Once approved, both policies will apply to faculty, staff and students across the University system.

The Information Security Policy formalizes many data and technology security practices already in place. It requires all technology owners, resources and data to be identified and inventoried. It also requires business continuity planning and enterprise technology risk management, as well as duty-specific training to ensure data is secured appropriately.

Getting a new phone soon? Print Duo bypass codes so you’re ready for the switch

Thinking about scoring a new phone in a Black Friday deal? Be ready to set it up for Duo two-factor authentication by printing 10 bypass codes and stashing them in your wallet. Select “Print Backup Codes or Add Duo Token” at login.wvu.edu.
 
These codes are handy if you break, lose or replace the phone you used to set up your Duo Mobile account. If you replace your phone, you’ll need a one-time bypass code to log in and remove your old device then add the new one, even if you keep your old phone number.
 
The ITS Service Desk will close at 5 p.m. on the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and will remain closed Nov. 27-30. The Service Desk will resume normal hours on Sunday, Dec. 1.

The ITS Service Desk will close at 5 p.m. on the Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week and will remain closed Nov. 27-30. The Service Desk will resume normal hours on Sunday, Dec. 1.
