Students: Get new Mountaineer ID card design at a great discount through Oct. 31

More than 10,500 students helped choose the new Mountaineer Card design last semester, with 7,321 picking the rugged but surmountable West Virginia landscape as the winner. To thank you for participating, Information Technology Services is having a trade-in sale on student ID cards now through Wednesday, Oct. 31.

If you are on our list of confirmed voters, you can swap your current student ID for the new design for only $10. Even if you didn’t participate, you can get the new design for half price, or $15. Card replacements typically cost $30.

To get the discount, you must:
  • Surrender your active student ID card. (If you lost your student ID and have nothing to turn in, you will have to pay the normal $30 fee.)
  • Have a previous card design.
  • Get a new photo taken.
Visit an ITS Service Center in either the Vandalia Lounge at the Mountainlair or in G-118 of Lyon Tower between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. ITS staff will look up your account, check your contest participation and request your current ID card for trade-in. You’ll then quickly fill out the online card replacement form, get a new picture taken and walk away minutes later with your new ID.

This offer is strictly voluntary. Your old card will continue to work if you don’t replace it.
