Critical IT projects will cause several disruptions in July; contact the Service Desk for help

Several critical University systems are going through upgrades in July, which will mean extended outages. Most of this work will occur over weekends to minimize the operational disruption.

July 20-23

  • Banner and related applications (STAR, Workflow and Banner Document Management) will be unavailable while it’s upgraded to have a more modern appearance, improved searching functions and better integration with more browsers.
  • WVU+kc (Kuali) may also be unavailable during this time frame for the addition of a research conflict of interest module that will be ready for users in August.

July 27-31

  • MAP, Data Miner and My Time, which includes Leave Request and Web Clock, will be unavailable as we move the system from onsite hardware to a cloud environment to improve efficiency.

During these times, staff in Information Technology Services will have limited capacity for work that is not critical. In July and moving forward, all requests must be directed through the Service Desk at 304-293-4444 or

The Service Desk will assign both Administrative and Business Requests and Academic Resource Requests to the proper ITS teams. Managers then review and prioritize those tickets while considering existing projects and operational tasks. If your unit wants to develop a project, please submit a project request.
