Student workers: You must begin using two-factor authentication by Friday, April 27

Student workers at WVU must begin using two-factor authentication by Friday, April 27 to continue to have access to secure systems. This is necessary because you have an overriding Employee role in our administrative systems. All other students may want to get a jump on next semester and set up two-factor before it's mandatory on Aug. 31.

Get out your laptop and phone to get started. Go to login.wvu.edu and select “My Login.” Enter your credentials, click “Enroll in Duo 2-Factor” and follow the steps. Be ready to download the free Duo Mobile app during this process.

Why is this mandatory? Passwords can be and are compromised regularly. They’re no longer good enough when it comes to protecting your personal, sensitive or financial information. Nor are they good enough to protect WVU’s systems and networks.

You’re already using two-factor. You enter a code when you change your password for email or social media. It only takes a few seconds, and it helps keep your personal and academic information out of the wrong hands. This video shows you how easy it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrErfD7sZXA
