ITS accepting public comment on identity and access management policy until Feb. 9

Information Technology Services welcomes comment on a new Identity and Access Management policy that would require the use of WVU Login credentials across all University-owned machines and systems used by faculty, staff and students. Centrally supported authentication credentials help prevent unauthorized electronic access to information, systems and applications, as well as potentially fraudulent activity.

This policy, which merges and replaces outdated documents, would apply to all staff, students and others with a University affiliation. To read it, please visit the ITS website and look under Draft Policies for Review. Enter your WVU Login credentials when prompted. Information Technology Services will accept feedback until midnight Thursday, Feb. 9.

This policy specifies that authentication of WVU Login credentials is required for access to certain restricted software services. It also specifies that students, employees and affiliates are responsible for safeguarding their credentials as defined in the previously approved Acceptable Use of Data and Technology Resources Policy and Sensitive Data Protection Policy.
