Kaspersky Anti-Virus update on ITS-administered computers to begin Sept. 29

To ensure that WVU faculty and staff have the best protection, Information Technology Services will begin rolling the latest version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus software to ITS-supported computers on Thursday, Sept. 29. Although this update will occur silently in the background and should not affect anyone’s work during those few minutes, it will require all users to reboot their computers to complete the process.

This update will be deployed over the course of one week and will only affect about 2,000 centrally managed computers such as those in the WVU administration, student computer labs, research office and the President and Provost offices. The Health Sciences Center, regional campuses, colleges and departments that have in-house IT support will not be affected at this time.
