As parents and others visiting the University join the WVU.Guest wireless network during the next few weeks, they should jot down the account information that’s automatically generated and displayed on the “Account Created” screen.
A recent update to the authentication software for WVU.Guest created two glitches: One prevents the system from sending the account information to users of any mobile device via text message, although users will still receive it by email. For convenience, Information Technology Services recommends you note the account information as soon as it appears on your screen.
The second glitch affects users on Apple mobile devices. Apple Mail is displaying only garble because of the bug in the Cisco software update. Users are encouraged to check email from a browser to get account information. Cisco estimates it will have a solution to this problem sometime in August.
