Use of the WVU.Guest wireless network will be limited to visitors to the Morgantown and divisional campuses starting Sunday, May 15, so all faculty and staff should ensure that their personal devices are connected to WVU.Encrypted or eduroam.
Starting May 15, anyone with @mail.wvu.edu, @mix.wvu.edu, @hsc.wvu.edu, @wvumedicine.org or a @wvuhealthcare.com addresses will see an error message advising them to connect through either WVU.Encrypted or eduroam using WVU Login credentials.
WVU.Encrypted provides secure transmission of data. It’s also more convenient because it remembers employee Login credentials as you change locations. The Guest network will NOT remember your Login credentials and will require you to keep re-entering them.
Guests to the campuses will be able to self-register with WVU.Guest using a valid email address and mobile phone number for five days of access. They will be required to log in every 24 hours during that period.
Faculty or staff who want secure, longer-term access for a colleague or anyone else visiting the campus may request a Sponsored account on WVU.Encrypted through their designated college or department IT support staff. Information Technology Services will work with individual departments and schools to provide Sponsored accounts that are valid for up to 45 days.
