ITS seeking comment on new policy for managing IT security incidents

Faculty, staff and students are invited to review and comment on a proposed policy that would formally give Information Technology Services primary responsibility for investigating, communicating and resolving incidents that could compromise the security of WVU systems and/or data.

This policy formally documents existing practice and provides guidance to both central and independent IT units on all WVU campuses.

This policy would require WVU employees, organizations or affiliates to report to ITS any suspected security issue with an IT system or asset owned by the University.

The draft policy is posted here. Please enter your WVU Login credentials when prompted to review the document.

Comments may be directed to Information Security Services Director Alex Jalso at until 5 p.m. Monday, March 21 on this policy.
