The Technology Support Center at Brooke Tower will be closing at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 2 ahead of the University holiday Friday. It will reopen at 8:15 a.m. Monday, July 6.
Faculty, staff and students will see a more intuitive, user-friendly and attractive self-service system for engaging help from Information Technology Services, starting Monday, July 20. The long-term goal of this project is to resolve more problems on first contact and to empower more users with the information they need to help themselves.
ITS is replacing the current tool with a new portal because Service Desk Express is no longer being updated or supported by the vendor who created it.
STAR and all STAR-related Academic Systems will be unavailable from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 21 while critical maintenance is performed. ITS appreciates your patience with this necessary outage.
WVU students and employees will notice a new appearance for the MyID service on Monday, June 15 because of changes Information Technology Services has made to the underlying software to improve security.
Existing users will NOT have to claim new accounts or reset passwords until they receive their typical expiration notices. When it is time to choose a new password, users will no longer have to answer a series of questions aimed at determining whether they are human or machine. Instead, users will simply check the box confirming “I’m not a robot.”
Faculty, staff and students who use Skype for Business can now search for and connect with anyone in the Skype network, including those outside the University.
Faculty, staff and students may be unable to claim MyID accounts or change passwords on Sunday, June 14 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. while ITS performs important maintenance.
Many applications and services, including MyAccess, MyTime and Data Miner, may be unavailable from 7 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 7 while Information Technology Services performs a number of critical maintenance projects. Services could continue to be available, but access is NOT guaranteed during this scheduled maintenance period. Wall time clocks, however, will remain available for employees.
