Students should NOT use WVU credentials for

Students who are invited to join a third-party, commercial website called, should NOT use WVU passwords to join. Students who have already joined StudyRoom using WVU credentials should immediately go to and change their passwords while Information Technology Services investigates several inquiries from students who have received unsolicited invitations.

StudyRoom requires an .edu e-mail address to sign up and asks students for their institution’s name. But StudyRoom was not created by the eCampus vendor, Blackboard, or by ITS.

Students who want to use StudyRoom or other social media or third-party academic services should NOT use their WVU passwords, as that information could potentially be used to compromise your personal information and University systems.
