Expanded online technology training should be more convenient for employees

Faculty and staff who want training on commercial technology products such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud and more can now schedule it online and at their convenience, rather than attending face-to-face workshops at designated times.

Information Technology Services has purchased additional licenses for Lynda.com, an online repository with tens of thousands of courses and video tutorials. Current WVU employees can request temporary access, and as many as 30 people may use the account simultaneously.

Students: Get Microsoft Office free, starting today, for up to 5 devices

Current WVU students can now download Microsoft Office free of charge on as many as five devices through the Student Advantage program at SLIC.wvu.edu.

Microsoft Office, which includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint, will remain free as long as the student remains enrolled. Upon leaving WVU, users will need to purchase a license to continue using the software.
