The certificate update is required for a system that will let several hundred students living at Pierpont Apartments register an unlimited number of devices with a new wireless network, starting with the first summer session.

Information Technology Services is piloting a new Cisco product, the Identity Services Engine, as part of larger planned changes to wireless access across all WVU campuses. Students at Potomac State College of WVU will also be using the new system when they arrive in August for the fall semester.

Through a one-stop registration page at mydevices.wvu.edu The Identity Services Engine will let them connect certain kinds of home devices that could not connect to the old wireless system . Those include such things as Xbox, Wii, Apple TV, Amazon TV and Google Chromecast.
