Office for iPad available for free download but has limitations for WVU users

A free version of Microsoft Office for iPad and Office Mobile apps for iPhone and Android mobile phones are now available, but WVU’s license does not include the advanced functionality of the apps.

WVU employees who want to download Word, Excel and PowerPoint for those kinds of devices may do so, but some features will not be available. WVU’s Office 365 licenses do not include advanced functions such as editing documents or connecting to OneDrive for Business.

As more information about Office for iPad becomes available, Information Technology leaders will review it and consider whether to update the current licenses.
