Students and teaching faculty have unlimited Google Drive space available through
their MIX accounts that can be used to upload files to share with others.
Faculty and staff can use the WVU FileLocker system when needing to send and receive
files that are too large for e-mail, and cloud-based storage is available through
OneDrive for Business.
When common space is needed for multiple employees, network drive space is an option,
and when employee work groups need advanced collaborative resources in addition
to file space, SharePoint can be an excellent solution.
Lastly, physical media, such as optical discs, flash drives, and portable hard drives
can be options for transporting files when information security best practices
Teaching faculty and students have unlimited cloud storage where files can be saved
and shared with others. This is the best place for faculty to share files with
students, but the files can be shared with anyone having an email account. Access
the space by logging into
https://drive.google.com using your MIX email address and password.

OneDrive for Business
OneDrive for Business is a component of faculty and staff Office 365 accounts. It
provides 1 terabyte of cloud storage space for files (soon to become unlimited),
and is accessible from most any Internet-connected device. Collaborative sharing
of files with colleagues is possible, whether or not they have Office 365 accounts.
While OneDrive for Business is very convenient and effective for some scenarios,
it is suggested that teaching faculty use the Google Drive space within their MIX
accounts to share files with students, and file sharing within university departments
may be best done using SharePoint.

CDs, DVDs, and removable drives are popular due to their portability and capacity,
but risks exist for them to fall into the wrong hands. As such, proper security
measures should be taken to prevent the contents from being accessed by unauthorized
